Do you know what to expect if you are 19 weeks pregnant? You are just a week away from the midpoint of your pregnancy, the bump is starting to be quite evident and it is definitely hurting your wardrobe.

Up until this point in this second trimester of pregnancy, you may only have had to make small adjustments but from here onwards, you may be faced with a weekly overhaul. You wake up in the morning and suddenly half your clothes don’t fit. The weight seems to pile on overnight as the days go by.

Each pregnancy week by week, comes with a little bit more of the weight gain, stretch marks to mention but a few signs. In the event that you do get stretch marks, note that the extent and severity of the stretch marks depends on many factors, among them genetics.

Use a moisturizing skin cream to deal with the dryness and itchiness brought on by the changes in skin condition might be quite helpful, i.e the use of bio-oil and Shea butter. Beware, not all creams that boast the ability to get rid of stretch marks actually work.

The hormonal rush if you are 19 weeks pregnant, is coupled with your body’s struggle to cope with the rapid changes taking place within, and  may result in a perpetual feeling of exhaustion.

As the day wears on, you may experience a great compulsion to rest and when you find that you absolutely have to, find a place and a moment to catch a quick nap.


If you happen to be in a place where the temperatures are high, this is going to be one long hot season. You will in some cases, suddenly find yourself very sensitive to heat. It can sometimes feel like someone has lit a small fire under you.

You might feel like the fewer clothes you wear the better. The old wives’ tale about not wearing black while pregnant may very well have got its origins from the need to keep cool.

If you are 19 weeks pregnant, pamper yourself a lot, if it seems like you constantly need to find ways to cool off, then most certainly go do so! Drink more fluids in order to keep hydrated and try shopping in the sleeveless, strapless, cotton section of the clothes store and don’t forget to spoil yourself.
